General Knot & Co. was founded in 2010 by Ann and Andrew Payne, two designers whose shared love of textiles and craftsmanship grew from their years as design directors for fashion brands including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and The Original Penguin. Their limited-edition accessories are designed and manufactured in the USA using rare and vintage textiles sourced from around the world, giving each collection a distinctive sense of history, texture, and character.

The Portfolio Tote is designed for people who like to carry plenty without sacrificing style. Its structured shape holds documents, notebooks, laptops, and everyday essentials, while thoughtful details including taped seams, a double interior pocket, brass zipper closure, and internal D-ring keep everything organized and within reach.
