Founded in 2014 by two creatives working at an advertising agency, Footnotes began as a response to uninspired greeting cards and a desire to bring back the joy of handwritten notes. Their work blends witty, thoughtful messaging with clean, minimal design, creating pieces that feel both personal and quietly playful.
These New York-themed candles capture the city's neighborhoods, landmarks, and unmistakable moods in fragrance. The collection brings together atmospheric scent stories inspired by everything from brownstone stoops and cobblestone streets to late nights in Williamsburg, neighborhood record stores, rainy parks, and old bookshops. Each candle is hand-poured in Brooklyn using 100% vegan soy wax and is non-toxic, phthalate-free, and paraffin-free, housed in an amber glass jar with a black metal lid. At 8 oz and approximately 2.8" × 2.8" × 3.5", they're substantial enough to make a statement without taking over the room. A little New York atmosphere, minus the subway ride home.
