Hand-Thrown Coffee Mug

This modern coffee mug was thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay. The base was made first and then after some drying time, the handle was pulled off the top of the mug and attached it to the base. This gives the entire form a lovely, organic, handmade touch. The lower third is left naked so there is a contrast in texture of the raw clay with the smooth glaze.
